An open challenge to Rev. Fr. Genaro Diwa

If you cannot show it then...

Show us the approval of the Holy See of the Misa ng Bayang Pilipino!

Why celebrate a form of the Mass that is not approved by the Holy See?

Aren't you a priest subject to the authority of the Successor of St. Peter?

Don't you hold a higher degree in Liturgy?  Does that degree give you the license to openly rebel and disobey against the Holy See?

What kind of example are you showing young Catholics about respect for those in authority?

Do you expect the young ones to respect you when you openly disrespect Rome?

And then, why would you be so hostile against the Extraordinary Form of the Mass when it is legalized and liberalized by Pope Benedict XVI through his motu propio Summorum Pontificum?

Are you saying to all of us that just because you possess a higher degree in Liturgy, you overrule the Pope?

You can read more about the illegal and improper Misa ng Bayang Pilipino here and here.

  2. I've read from the official liturgical booklet that was used during the PCNE that although this bruhahaha (It's not even a Mass, IMHO, because the form was altered and for any Sacrament to be confected, the proper and approved elements, i.e. matter, form, minister, must be followed. In this case, the form has been deliberately altered.) hasn't not received confirmation from the Holy See, it was already approved by the local episcopal conference and is recognized by the Ordinary of the place where it was celebrated (Archdiocese of Manila). That's the justification they have stated for the celebration of this mess. But they should be slapped ten times with a copy of the Redemtionis Sacramentum (RS). It is clearly stated in that document that:

"[27.] As early as the year 1970, the Apostolic See announced the cessation of all experimentation as regards the celebration of Holy Mass[62] and reiterated the same in 1988.[63] Accordingly, individual Bishops and their Conferences do not have the faculty to permit experimentation with liturgical texts or the other matters that are prescribed in the liturgical books. In order to carry out experimentation of this kind in the future, the permission of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments is required. It must be in writing, and it is to be requested by the Conference of Bishops. In fact, it will not be granted without serious reason. As regards projects of inculturation in liturgical matters, the particular norms that have been established are strictly and comprehensively to be observed.[64]

[28.] All liturgical norms that a Conference of Bishops will have established for its territory in accordance with the law are to be submitted to the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments for the recognitio, without which they lack any binding force.[65]"

I am very ashamed of the bishops and priests who allows this kind of travesty. Most especially those who despise the Traditional Mass but loves this Mess very much.
From these priest and bishops, GOOD LORD, DELIVER US!

    By the way,
has this illegal celebration of the Misa ng Bayang Pilipino (MBP) been reported to Rome?
If no, we can report it (or maybe send an inquiry or clarification on the status of the MBP as to whether it can be really celebrated even without recognition from Rome) to the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of he Sacraments or directly to the Pope, right?
